PRP therapy

Taking care of your health, taking care of yourself, has become the norm for modern people. And today, modern medicine and cosmetology use a wide range of effective methods to help you do this. It is possible to rejuvenate the skin of the face and body without surgery, for example with stem cell therapy, injections of hyaluronic acid cocktails and safe cosmetological procedures. Pain relief for muscle inflammation, treatment of sprains and recovery from injuries can be achieved without the use of strong drugs. Plasmolifting treatment (PRP therapy) is a versatile anti-ageing method and an aid to regeneration and revitalisation, popularised for its unique ability to stimulate the natural cell renewal process.

What is plasmolyfting

Plasmolifting is an injectable cosmetic and medical procedure based on the injection of the patient's platelet-rich plasma into problem areas of the skin, hair follicles or joints. This method induces a natural regeneration and rejuvenation process, improves tissue condition and accelerates healing.

The essence of the procedure is that plasmolysis uses the patient's own blood, which is centrifuged to release plasma rich in growth factors and platelets. Platelets are blood cells that contain biologically active substances that can accelerate healing, promote tissue regeneration, the formation of new cells and improve blood microcirculation.

Indications for blood plasma injection

PRP therapy is a new treatment method. It is becoming increasingly popular in the medical field due to its many indications and its wide range of applications in various branches of medicine.

PRP therapy is used in orthopaedics, traumatology and sports medicine:

  • treatment of joints (arthritis, tendonitis);
  • for ligament damage (knee, elbow, shoulder joints);
  • treating injured muscles and tendons;
  • for rehabilitation after injuries - sprains, bruises and fractures;
  • prevention of chronic sports injuries.

It promotes cartilage regeneration, reduces pain and restores mobility, accelerates tissue healing and shortens the rehabilitation period.

In cosmetology and dermatology, plasmaplating is used for skin rejuvenation, skin and hair revitalisation:

  • Reduction of deep and mimic wrinkles, nasolabial folds;
  • improve skin colour;
  • from age-related changes;
  • scar removal, smoothing, including acne scars;
  • speed up skin regeneration;
  • treat acne, acne;
  • treatment and prevention of alopecia areata;
  • stimulate hair growth;
  • against hyperpigmentation.

It stimulates collagen production, increases skin elasticity and improves the overall condition of the skin, helping to remove various cosmetic blemishes.

Benefits of plasmolyfting

Blood plasma treatment opens up new possibilities for the body to recover without the need for regular medication.

Benefits

  1. Painless procedure (using a fine needle and minimal doses of local anaesthetic if necessary).
  2. Safety. As the procedure uses the patient's own plasma, the risk of allergic reactions or infection is minimal.
  3. Effective recovery without drugs. PRP therapy allows you to go off conventional drugs and recover naturally, which is particularly useful and important for chronic joint diseases where medication is not always effective.
  4. Quick recovery. Once the regeneration process is activated, patients can return to normal life and physical activity more quickly without long-term rehabilitation.

Preparing for the plasmolyfting procedure

Preparation for PRP therapy involves several key points, which are essential for the effectiveness and safety of the procedure for the patient.

The first step in the preparation process is a consultation with a doctor (cosmetologist, dermatologist, orthopaedic-traumatologist) who will assess the condition of the skin or the area to be treated. The doctor will take a medical history to rule out contraindications, discuss with the patient the objectives of the treatment as well as the expected result of the procedure.

General recommendations for plasmolyfting preparation:

  • Avoid taking anticoagulants 3-7 days before the procedure as they can increase bleeding and cause bruising.
  • Avoid alcohol for 2-3 days before the procedure, as it can affect blood composition and reduce the effectiveness of the procedure.
  • Smoking cessation at least 24 hours before the injection, Smoking disrupts microcirculation and can slow down regeneration processes.
  • Hydration - consume plenty of water a few days before the treatment. This will help to get more concentrated and "cleaner" plasma.
  • A diet rich in vitamins and trace elements for a few days before the procedure.
  • Analyses (if needed, as prescribed by your doctor).
  • Intensive cosmetic procedures (laser, acid peels, microdermabrasion, etc.) should not be performed 2-3 days before the procedure.

How PRP therapy is performed

PRP therapy is carried out in several stages:

  1. A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient's vein using a syringe - between 10 and 30 ml, depending on the programme.
  2. Once the blood has been collected, it is poured into a special sterile tube.
  3. The blood tube is placed in the centrifuge.
  4. The machine centrifuges the blood for about 10-15 minutes. During this time, the blood is separated into several fractions. From these fractions, plasma is separated, which contains a high concentration of platelets and growth factors.
  5. While the system prepares the plasma, the doctor cleans and disinfects the PRP injection site.
  6. Local anaesthesia is used (the injection site is anointed with an anaesthetic cream).
  7. The prepared plasma is injected into the problem area using a fine needle. The injection process can take between 10 and 30 minutes.

For facial rejuvenation or alopecia treatment, injections are given in several places. In orthopaedics, PRP is injected directly into a joint or damaged tissue (e.g. ligaments or tendons). After the injection, the patient may receive advice on how to care for the skin or joint. The procedure usually does not require long rehabilitation and the patient can return to daily activities the same day.

Slight redness, swelling or tenderness may occur at the injection sites, which usually disappears within 1-2 days.

Recommendations after the plasmolyfting procedure

It is important to follow your doctor's recommendations after PRP therapy:

  • Avoid exposing the treated areas of the skin to high and low temperatures (do not go to the sauna, do not swim in the pool, do not stay in the sun for long periods of time).
  • Use a cream with high UV protection (SPF 30-50) for 1-2 weeks after the procedure.
  • Limit physical activity for 2-3 days and reduce the intensity of exercise.
  • No touching or rubbing of the skin at the injection sites and no use of decorative cosmetics for the first 24 hours.
  • Avoid aggressive cosmetic treatments (scrubbing, exfoliation, laser peeling, etc.) for a few days.
  • To speed up healing and regeneration, it is advisable to use moisturising creams or mild soothing products recommended by your doctor.
  • Drink more water.
  • Give up smoking and alcohol.

PRP injections - how many treatments are needed

The number of PRP treatments depends on the specific problem being addressed, as well as the individual patient's specific health conditions and indications.

Standard guidelines on the number of PRS procedures:

  1. Orthopaedic problems (joints, tendons, ligaments) - 2 to 4 treatments with a 2-3 week break between injections (time needed to activate regeneration processes).
  2. Cosmetic treatments (facials, skin rejuvenation) - 3 to 5 treatments with a 2-4 week break. The skin renewal process continues after the end of the course.
  3. Hair loss (alopecia) treatment - 3 to 6 treatments. The interval between treatments is 1-2 weeks. Depending on the degree of hair loss and the condition of the scalp, the doctor may adjust the frequency and number of treatments.
  4. Injuries and rehabilitation in sports medicine - usually 2-4 sessions, 2-3 weeks apart.

The effects of PRP therapy can last from a few months to a year, depending on the area of application and the individual characteristics of the body. In some cases, maintenance sessions are recommended every 6-12 months to maintain the results.

Blood plasma injections - contraindications

PRP therapy (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a modern treatment method that uses the patient's own platelet rich plasma to promote tissue regeneration. It has a wide range of applications and is one of the safest therapies available, but like all therapies, it has certain contraindications:
